338 LM HTR Review by 338 guy
Ordered a htr in 338 lm, 28" pipe + break, had to wait a little while to get it, but it was worth it! great stock, action and bbl, nice lookin gun! With lapua brass and home rolled ammo I am shooting 5/8" groups at 200 yds. I am running a NF 5.5-22X50 scope, i bought the gun for long range target / hunting, at 1000 yds I was able to shoot a five shot 6" group, three shots inside 2.5". Longest kill was a whitetail at 815 yds, whoever says 250 smk's dont kill is dead wrong!
I am very happy with this gun! If you can afford it buy it, if you cant save your pennies! (Posted on 8/25/10) -
Pro HTR 6.5 x 284 Review by dead eye
Purchased a new HTR in March of 2010. Love the rifle. Shot 1/2 group 100 yards with factory Norma Ammo, Nosler Bullet. 400 yards produced a 1.5'' group with the same ammo. 800 yards produced a 5'' group. I am an average hunter and target shooter. This rifle is capable of the finest accuracy possible. Have a Zeiss Rapid Z 1000 scope. (Posted on 5/17/10)

Raising The Bar Review by Last Rites
The HTR has raised the bar for all other companies that try to compete in the heavy tactical rifle division. After spending a great amount of time oogling over the AI AWSM L115A2 chambered in .338 lapmag, I was extremely disappointed with the over-inflated price tag. AI has great marketing and good brochures to boost the consumers mind set. When it comes to my choice of .338 lapmag for my all around big game hunting / tactical snipping rifle and otherwise SHTF defense rifle in my favorite caliber... I found that the AI AWSM was one of the least capable systems in .338 lapmag. For half the price, H-S precision makes twice the HTR far better IMO. H-S precision has always raised the bar for their competition. I was very surprised that AI has let down the market with over-hyped and over-priced disappointing weapon systems. I am even more surprised at cheytac as well. When it comes to another of my favorite calibers, the M-200 intervention in .408 was not cutting the grade for my liking. In fact, my new H-S precision HTR in .338 will out perform any cheytac there is. And it's even cooler looking in my selection of grassland coloring. At least to me. Dakota makes one helluva fine weapons system as well, but I ultimately feel that when it comes to what I was looking for and my budget range... you simply can't get any better then this rifle right here. The HTR is a grade above all the others and at a fraction of the price. Sometimes that old saying, "You get what you pay for" doesn't hold true. Especially in these days where the economy is in the toilet and getting worse. Consumers are looking for bargains and aggressively competitive price tags. H-S precision has done a fantastic job. I feel it was worth every penny and I doubt I could be any happier with any other weapon system out there. This is going to be a treasured possession for life!

un matched accuracy Review by shooter 1000
My HS HTR rifles never seem to disapoint me. My 6.5 284 competes right along side with the bench guns in the IBS Bench rest series i compete in. The first match i shot it in this year was the state 600yrd championships in the 17lb and under class also known as light gun out of a field of 82 competors from all over the country it shot a 159 out of 200 and placed me in a tie for 24th place. The 240 HTR has placed me as high as 5th in the heavy gun class with a 163 out of 200 and an over all group size of 4.349. Not too bad concidering i'm competeing against 40+ pund rifles with a 15 lb tactical rifle with a 20 power scope. Between the 2 rifles they had in 9th over for the 2 gun combined after 4 matches unfortunatly i missed the 5th to shoot a multigun match and fell out of the top 10.
The 240 HTR shoots amazing 5 shot groups at 600yrds in the 2" range quite frequently with 115 bergers and 115 tubbs (SMK) and Has shot 5" groups at 900yrds
The 6.5x284 Shoots in the 3" range with 142 SMK and in the 2" range with 140 Bergers at 600yrds
With out a doubt these are the finest tactical rifles made keep up the good work

Outstanding rifle Review by Oddsix
I had a chance to shoot an FBI HS Precision and I wish I hadn't. Once I squeezed off a round I knew I had to have my own. Sure enough, within a week I was the proud owner of an HTR in .308.
It's an unbelievable shooter, it is far more accurate a rifle than I am a shooter, but it makes me look good. Shooting the 1/2 MOA guarantee is a breeze and I regularly shoot 1/4" or less. My only problem now is trying to come up with the funds to get one in .338! (Posted on 11/19/09) -
Best there is. PERIOD. Review by Advanced Tactical Solutions
As a former USMC Scout/Sniper I have shot and examined many "precision" rifles. My HTR 308 wearing a NSX 5.5-22x50mm scope is the most accurate rifle I have shot to date. My gun runs Black Hills 168gr BTHP Match flawlessly. It consistently shouts sub MOA out to 600 yards. You won't regret the purchase. You can spend a whole lot more on a "custom precision" rifle but don't waist your money. (Posted on 11/12/09)

Indrecible rifle Review by Nick
I purchased a HTR in .338LM and I am blown away with the accuracy and craftsmanship of this rifle. Not only is the rifle amazing their customer service/support staff are awesome. I called in with a simple scope question and an hour later I got of the phone witha gentleman I felt like I had known for years and enough info to make your head spin. Great people. I shoot this next to my Barrett 98B .338LM and hands down this is a better rifle and holds better groups. Thank you again H-S

Unlike no other Review by Squizzzy
Make no mistake, buying one of these rifles will give you one massive headache, because you will want more! What can I sell in the safe to buy another HS Rifle? The HS Precision rifles are made so perfectly, after 30 years of shooting every manufactured firearm under the sun, I now know what I have been missing out on. Down under we still do shoot, and what we shoot, we shoot a lot! What a company….what a rifle! 5 out of five for me. (Posted on 6/9/09)

accurate Review by romieiv
My Pro 2000 in .338 with a muzzle brake has shot a .226 so far out the box
at 100 meters. First 5 rounds were .280 with 80g of retumbo and 250
Sierra MK's... Next 5 tightened up with 90g of retumbo to .226. This is with a Leopold MK IV. Will Mount a Nightforce 12x42x56 next week and see what we shall see.. Damm fine rifle so far, kick is ok... (Posted on 5/5/09) -
Extremely high quality rifle Review by Hmann
I have less than 50 rounds through the rifle I purchased (308) so it is barely broken in. The rifle is extremely accurate. 3-shot groups of 1/2 MOA at 100 yards are common (using Nite Force 12x40-50 scope, set at 21x) It is a pleasure to shoot and a real eye catcher at the range. Prefers 175 to 180 grain projectiles. I'd recommmend this rifle to anyone. I do not reload - above with factory match ammunition. Is also very respectible with 150 grain low end ammo as well.
